Upgrading 102, A Guide for TH9

Town Hall 9 has two distinctive caveats you should be aware of.

This guide will just cover the differences from Upgrading 101.

​

There are two very heavy things dropped on us at TH9:

             The Witch troop and the Freeze spell  (see weights)

​

For this reason, it is highly recommended to delay unlocking these two things until you have other offenses upgraded and your base is past the infancy stage of TH9.

​

This means hold off on dark barracks upgrades until your new town hall gets established.  Keep that witch locked up for a little while. 

​

Upgrading the spell factory unlocks freeze.  Unfortunately, the added spell housing space is critical to successful attacks, so there is no getting around unlocking freeze.  Just do the CC and Lab first.  Army camps close behind.

Please review the war weight page to help you understand how each thing added to your base affects your war ranking.  Increasing your war weight will make it harder for you the 3 star your mirror in war, which is a constant goal of CLAN WARS. 

​

WARNINGS:  All the weights changed after the town hall 12 release, but some fundamental thoughts remain the same.

​

Specific warnings have been removed, refer to weight pages to get an idea of what one thing weighs over another.  Adding 500 may not mean anything to you, but compare it to adding 100 or 200 for something else.

​

Do not upgrade your base beyond your skill level.  You should be able to defeat an enemy just like you. 

​

And do not let your village fall behind on troop and spell upgrades.  If you do not have decent troop levels for at least one attack, you will be asked to opt-out of war until this is fixed.
